About this RoleAs a Meat Department Team Lead at Whole Foods Market, you will play a key role in driving sales and profitability in the meat department. You will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned.Key Responsibilities

• Lead and Develop Team Members: You will be responsible for leading and developing Team Members, including selecting, training, developing, mentoring, motivating, and counseling them in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
• Assist Team Leader: You will assist the Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports, and labor, as well as assist with ordering and inventory management.
• Customer Service: You will maintain awareness of customer flows and needs and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
• Store Layout and Product Merchandising: You will develop and maintain creative store layout and product merchandising.
• Sales and Expense Targets: You will work with the Team Leader to achieve sales and expense targets.Requirements
  • Experience: 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Extensive knowledge of meat products, growth mindset, excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills, and proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day, and work in a wet and cold environment.
